Drawing on my half-Italian, half-Indian heritage and my upbringing in a matriarchal Indian household alongside European perspectives on India’s history, this project tackles the lingering legacy of caste-based discrimination. Although legally abolished, caste divisions persist in everyday life—restricting social interaction, intermarriage, and even fueling violence against Dalits. By combining firsthand cultural insight with objective analysis, the project will: Raise Awareness: Produce multimedia content (articles, videos, social campaigns) that illuminate how caste conditioning endures despite constitutional bans. Foster Dialogue: Organize workshops and discussion forums bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to share experiences and challenge ingrained prejudices. Support Advocacy: Partner with grassroots NGOs to spotlight legal gaps, aid victims of caste violence, and promote effective policy reform. Through this blended approach of storytelling, community engagement, and policy advocacy, Annihilate the Caste System aims to dismantle social barriers and accelerate true equality in India and beyond.
